My name is Amelia Bailey. I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and I currently reside in West Carrollton, Ohio with my older sister. I'm a full time student and I work in tutorial services as a tutor. I love writing and reading, I think both go hand and hand together. I want to spend my life writing, from science fiction and mystery to historical and dramatic introspective fiction, everything under the sun. Storytelling is what I breathe, so the short story collection I've compiled are all the stories that reflect the themes love, hate, sorrow, and everything else in between that all human beings can connect to. I love stories that make us think, to contemplate our lives and the choices we've made. To understand who we were, who we are, and who we'll become.
I took this class because I love reading and I love short stories. I love the idea of being able to step into someone's life and watch something profound happen to them in the course of just a few pages. I also love the kinds of conversations literature classes stimulate in people. I find when people are forced to really think beyond their own everyday life, not only do we learn a great deal about the thought process of the author and their characters, but we learn so much about ourselves as human beings. We're faced with our morality, our sense of right and wrong, and our ideals of what our lives and the lives of those around us should be. And I wanted to discover some writers and stories I didn't know.
